Troubleshooting Login Issues - Android

Troubleshooting Login Issues - Android

Before diving into device-specific steps, try these basic troubleshooting tips.

- Check your Internet Connection
Ensure you're connected to Wi-Fi or mobile data. Login requires an internet connection.
Turn off and on your Wi-Fi or data to refresh.

- Update the App
Outdated versions can cause login bugs.
Go to your app store, search for our app, and tap "Update" if available.

- Verify your Credentials
Double-check your email/username and password for typos.
If you forgot your password, use the "Forgot Password?" link on the login screen to reset it via email.

- Restart your Device

A simple restart can resolve temporary glitches.

For Android devices, login problems could stem from Google Play Services, app storage, or permission settings. Steps may vary slightly by manufacturer (e.g., Samsung vs. Google Pixel), but core menus are consistent.

1. Froce Stop and Restart the App
Go to Settings > Apps (or Apps & Notifications > Pistol Boundaries > Force Stop
Reopen the app from your home screen and attempt login.

2. Check App Permissions
Go to Settings > Apps > Pistol Boundaries > Permissions. For older versions like Android 9, permissions might be under Settings > Security & Privacy.
Enable Location, Storage, and Notifications if needed for login features like 2FA.

3. Manage Saved Passwrods
Go to Settings > Google > Manage your Google Account > Security > Password Manager (or use a third-party manager if set up).
Search for our app or your email, and edit or remove the saved password if it's outdated.

4. Clear App Cache and Data
Go to Settings > Apps > Pistol Boundaries > Storage & Cache.
Tap "Clear Cache" first (safe, doesn't delete data). If that doesn't work, tap "Clear Storage" or "Clear Data" (this resets the app, so you'll need to log in fresh).
Note: On Android 14+, this menu might include "Manage Space" for more options. For Samsung devices, it's similar but under "Storage."

5. Handle Error Messages
"Invalid Credentials": Use the "Forgot Password?" option to reset.
"Connection Failed": Check for VPN interference. Go to Settings > Network & Internet > VPN and disable if active.
"App Not Responding": This could be a performance issue. Clear cache as above or check for device updates in Settings > System > System Update.

6. Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) Issues
Ensure your authenticator app (like Google Authenticator) is up to date.
Go to Settings > Google > Manage your Google Account > Security to verify 2FA settings.

If problems continue, try uninstalling via the Google Play Store and reinstalling, or reach out to support with your Android version and device model.
