If the app won't start downloading from the App Store, gets stuck in a "waiting" state, or fails to install completely, try these steps one by one.
1. Verify your Apple ID and Sign-In Status:
To ensure you're signed in with an active Apple ID. Go to... Settings > [Your Name] at the top.
If not signed in, tap Sign in to your iPhone and enter your credentials.
Sometimes, a sign-out and sign-back-in can refresh things: Tap [Your Name] > Scroll to the bottom > Sign Out, then sign back in
2. Check your Internet Connection
Make sure you're on a reliable Wi-Fi network or cellular data. Test by opening Safari and loading a webpage.
If Wi-Fi is spotty, forget the network. Go to... Settings > Wi-Fi > Tap the info icon next to you network > Forget This Network then reconnect.
If you're on cellular data, toggle Airplane Mode on/off. Go to Settings > Airplane Mode.
3. Free up Storage Space
Low storage often causes downloads to stall. Go to Settings > General > iPhone Storage (or iPad Storage). It shows a breakdown of what's using space.
Tap on apps or categories to delete unused items, like old photos or large apps. Aim for at least 1-2 GB free before trying again.
4. Update iOS
An updated system can block app installs. Go to Settings > General > Software Update.
If an update is available, download and install it. You'll need Wi-Fi and sufficient battery or a charger. For iOS 14, the menu is the same.
5. Restart the Downlaod Process
If it's stuck, pause and resume. In the App Store, tap your profile icon > Pending Downloads (if visible) or search for Pistol Boundaries and tap the cloud icon to restart.
If that fails, delete the partial install. Go to home screen > long-press the app icon (it might show as greyed out > Delete App > Confirm then redownload from the app store.
6. Restart your Device
Hold the side button (and volume button on newer models) until the power off slider appears > slide to shut down. Wait 30 seconds, the power back on by holding the side button.
